Right on the main street in Ubud is the small Hindu temple Pura Penataran Saraswati, featuring lotus ponds. It also houses the sacred Pejeng Moon—a large bronze gong dating back to the Bronze Age.
In the surrounding Ubud area, you can also visit the Elephant Cave Goa Gajah, the Tegalalang rice terraces, and the Tegunungan or Sumampan waterfalls. A pleasant walk can be had along the Campuhan Ridge Walk or through the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary.
