Sanur is a place for a peaceful vacation. The beach is long with white sand, and the sea is calm due to a nearby reef that breaks the waves, making it pleasant for swimming at high tide. However, at low tide, you won’t be able to swim much as the sea is full of underwater grass and the water only reaches your ankles. The calm water level is ideal for water sports.
On a clear day, you can see Mount Agung in the distance to the east, a giant statue of Vishnu to the south, and Nusa Lembongan island beyond the sea.
Sanur features a long main street with shops and restaurants where you can enjoy a nice evening. You can also find Hardy’s department store with fixed prices.
From the Sanur harbor, boats depart to the neighboring islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, as well as to Lombok and the Gili Islands.
